Directors to watch

I personally am keeping an eye on Martin Cambell. He has made Golden Eye, Casino Royal, and is directing the new Green Lantern movie in 2011. The other directors showing promise are Christopher Nolan, Jon Favrou, and Guy Ritchie. Christopher Nolan has made Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight. Jon Favrou has made Iron Man 1 & 2, and assisted with Couple's Retreat. Finally but not least, Guy Ritchie made the epic film titled Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey jr. These directors will re-define hollywood film making. Take my word for it, I swear on my future grave that these men will blow us away every time.

  1. ok, being the highly opinionated person I am, I had to comment. I haven't seen any of Cambell's films, so I can't offer an opinion. Jon Faavreau, he's a highly credited actor, but not a solid filmmaker. Iron Man's a good, entertaining movie, don't get me wrong, but with Elf and Zathura (neither of which are well-directed) being his only two notable movies, I'd give him 2 or 3 more years until I think of him as "good," never mind recommended. Christopher Nolan is Chuck Norris of filmmaking for all i care, and easily my second favorite, if not favorite director. Dark Knight, Batman Begins, The Prestige... he's one of the best. I am eagerly awaiting his involvement in the Superman reboot, as well as Inception later this year. Guy Richie has zero track record for making good movies, but in my opinion, Sherlock Holmes was genius. I'm giving him 1 or 2 more movies before I become a loyal fan, but he's got the stuff in him. Who do I recommend? All of Tim Burtons movies aside from possibly Alice in Wonderland, Shane Acker with his solid debut with "9", anything Christopher Nolan has a hand in (I can sure agree with you there lol), and hopefully McG will have something good to follow Terminator Salvation with. and shun Terry Gilliam with all of your soul
